Organization of education in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021.
In connection with the upcoming new academic year 2020/2021 and the current situation related to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, we would like to inform you that the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, in order to ensure the safety of the academic community, has decided that the teaching activities at universities, postgraduate and doctoral schools and other forms of education in the Nicolaus Copernicus University in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 will, as a rule, take place remotely (online).
With regard to teaching activities other than lectures, which due to their specificity or other important reasons cannot take place remotely, the Dean, and in doctoral schools, the headmaster of the doctoral school, may decide to carry them out in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 in the traditional form in the buildings of the University in accordance with the principles of safety and sanitary regime. Information about the didactic classes, which were indicated for realization in the traditional form in the buildings of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, will be placed by September 15, 2020 on the faculty’s websites, and in case of doctoral schools on the websites of the doctoral school. The final plans of classes will be published on the aforementioned websites by September 21. Teaching activities to be carried out in the traditional form will be scheduled on days other than the remote classes.
We would also like to inform that the student houses will be open and accessible to students. Similarly, the University buildings will be open and accessible for students and employees of the City Hall. We would also like to inform you that matriculation in the academic year 2020/2021 should be planned in compliance with the sanitary regime, it is also possible to organize informational meetings for first year students in compliance with the safety and sanitary regime. However, the graduation ceremony will not take place in the traditional form.
The organization of the academic year 2020/2021 has been established in the Order No. 117 of the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University of 29 May 2020.
